Almost everyone uses emails as part of their day to day lives in order to communicate with friends, colleagues, and business partners – and most of the time they are real email addresses that can send and receive email as expected. For whatever reason, you may receive an email address that looks suspicious, and want to make sure that the email is indeed legitimate, without sending an email to test it out yourself. If you fall into this category, we have a method for you to lookup the email address for free and see if it really exists.
How to Lookup An Email Address To See If It Exists
1: Copy the email on a piece of paper, or word doc, so you can reference back to it later.
2: Open up a web browser and visit verify-email.com
3: Scroll down past the advertisements to the section that asks you to input the email address that you wrote down earlier. Enter the email address in the text box as shown below.
4: Once you have entered the email address click on “Verify” – do not click on “Search Email Owner”
5: Right below the page will be the results section that will either tell you that the email is real, or it is invalid.
In our example, “[email protected]” is not a valid email address.
You can use this tool to verify up to 5 email addresses, one by one, per hour. If you need to verify more than that number, you can sign up for a plan at the website. They also have an API you can use for the more technologically advanced users.
